Big Data & Society (BD&S) is an Open Access peer-reviewed scholarly journal that publishes interdisciplinary work principally in the social sciences, humanities and computing and their intersections with the arts and natural sciences about the implications of big data for societies.

The Journal's key purpose is to provide a space for connecting debates about the emerging field of big data practices and how they are reconfiguring academic, social, industry, business and governmental relations, expertise, methods, concepts and knowledge.


Methodological Innovations* is an international, open access journal and the principal venue for publishing peer-reviewed, social-research methods articles. Jointly edited by Peter Carrington (University of Waterloo, Canada), Ross Coomber (Griffith University, Australia), Gayle Letherby (Plymouth University, UK), and John Scott (Exeter University, UK) it has been published by SAGE since 2015.

The journal publishes high-quality papers in research methods and methodology from all social-science disciplines. Papers that have a focus on new methodological approaches, or using traditional methodologies in new ways or methodologies which cross disciplines are especially welcome. Methodological Innovations publishes both peer-reviewed papers and short discussion pieces, which consider the wider issues around innovative research methods.


Social Media + Society is an online, open-access, peer-reviewed scholarly journal deeply committed to advancing the understanding of social media and its impact on societies past, present and future. With a leading editorial team, the journal offers a collaborative, open, and shared space dedicated to the study of social media and their implications for societies. It facilitates state-of-the-art research on cutting-edge trends and enables scholars to develop research and track trends in this emerging field of study.

New Media & Society is an international journal that provides an interdisciplinary forum for the examination of the social dynamics of media and information change.

New Media & Society engages in critical discussions of the key issues arising from the scale and speed of new media development, drawing on a wide range of disciplinary perspectives and on both theoretical and empirical research.


Media, Culture & Society provides a major international forum for the presentation of research and discussion concerning the media, including the newer information and communication technologies, within their political, economic, cultural and historical contexts.

Environment and Planning B: Urban Analytics and City Science is the leading journal for the publication of high-quality articles that present cutting-edge research in analytical methods for urban planning and design. The journal focuses on smart cities, urban analytics, GIS, and urban simulation models. It also deals with visualisation, computation, and formal design-based methods applicable to morphological processes and structures in cities and regions.
